Crop Shredders > Why Loftness Shredders?

NO OTHER SHREDDER LINE OFFERS ALL THESE FEATURES!

More Models

Hundreds of configurations to fit your operation including 8 different sizes: 12, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25 & 30 foot, in three different mounting arrangements (pull-type, semi-mounted & fully-mounted), all available with four different types of knives. Included in the Loftness shredder line are special models for “BT corn”, rice stubble, defoliating vegetable crops, mulching trees & brush and large residential/commercial mowers.

Mounting Types

Three mounting types are available: pull-type, semi-mounted, or fully-mounted.

Pull-Types: The pull-type is the most popular, and the conventional way to mount a shredder. A constant-velocity PTO shaft is used; the operator can turn sharp without the PTO knuckles clattering. A disk can also be pulled behind this unit with optional disk hitch. The pull-type shredder is the easiest type shredder for most people to operate. This model should be used in contour farming applications, because it will trail the tractor better around corners.

Semi-Mount: The semi-mount shredder features the benefit of zero turning radius, but without carrying all the weight of the shredder. Your tractor lifts only part of the weight, while the lift-assist wheels carry the balance. It also eliminates drive-line deflection, which results in clattering when turning with a pull-type shredder without a constant-velocity PTO shaft.

Fully-Mounted: A zero turning radius is also an advantage of the fully-mounted shredder, but requires a larger tractor that will handle lifting the full weight of the shredder.

Starting with the Frame...

Heavy Built

Rectangular 4” x 8” front beam and square 4” x 4” tube rear beam make up the frame of the Loftness shredder. The beams are all welded into the 1/4" top and the 1/2" center plate. (Most competitive machines have no frame - their top is bent around to form a frame.) Cutter-bar is standard on all machines.

Curved Hood

More suction! No protruding edges interfere with crop flow, while creating greater suction with less power requirements.

Re-cutter

Special re-cutter bar forces crop residue to pass between it and the knives.

1/4" Top

4 gauge - 1/4" curved hood.

Optional Hood Liner

3/16" welded-in, abrasion-resistant plate shown here
